We are excited to be offering the opportunity to join Procreate Project’s team to an Art Sales Consultant

Job Type: Part-time freelance basis

Project Fee: £2500 + commissions

Location: London, UK

Tenure: Fix-term role

This is a unique opportunity to join Procreate Project’s team at a very crucial yet exciting time. Procreate Project is a pioneering arts organisation driven by an ethos that strives for innovation and sociocultural impact. The main aim is to support the professional development of contemporary artists who are also mothers, working across disciplines.

After seven years from its conception, Procreate Project is at a brick of manifesting its vision and being established in the wider art world.

The successful candidate will actively engage in planning and delivering a sales strategy, perform sales and develop a client database contributing to Procreate Project’s longer-term sustainability and widen its impact and outreach.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of contemporary art, proven experience in sales, and would be passionate about gender equality and the championing of women artists.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Implement sales strategies and develop new clients by increasing the reach of the organisation
  • Follow up offers and maintain an open dialogue with clients, museums and artists regarding available works
  • Place key artworks in important collections through working with clients and museums
  • Business and Client Development
  • Represent Procreate Project at industry events across museums, art fairs and auctions Research and develop the organisation collector list
  • Set contact strategy for working with key prospective and existing collectors

Experience Required

  • Considerable experience in sales
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the art markets
  • Have a proven network of collectors including relationships with institutions
  • Have an established base of collectors in London with a focus on contemporary art and women artists
  • Excellent customer service, and established relationships with clients

Person specifications:

It is essential that the Art Sales Consultant

  • Has a strong interest in Procreate Project’s work and its mission
  • Has at least two years experience of working in the arts, with artists and
    arts organisations, in ways which align with the responsibilities summarized above
  • Has an expanded knowledge on online marketing and sales
  • Is well organised and possesses strong administration skills;
  • Is highly motivated and able to work as part of a team;
  • Has Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and is confident communicating in writing and in person;
  • Has the ability to represent Procreate Project to artists, organisations and the
    general public.
  • A team player, highly motivated, mature, meticulous, independent,
  • Possesses determination and drive to achieve targets

This role is offered on a freelance basis with heightened activity from September 2020.
