Childbirth-19

A powerful piece of verbatim theatre, specifically written to be performed online, based on real life experiences of mothers who have given birth during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The play depicts childbirth in times of Covid-19 and tackles how the experience of pregnancy and labour is shaped by systemic trauma, as due to coronavirus, childbirth interventions and mistreatments have increased, disregarding women’s needs and rights.

The show will premiere on December 12th at 3 pm London time, via the recently launched Theatreis.Digital platform.

The show will be introduced by a conversation with Rebecca Brione from Birthrights, Anna Horn – Postnatal Doula and Breastfeeding Counsellor, Laura Godfrey Isaacs – Midwife and Birth activist and Nicola Goodall, doula, birthkeeper and aromatherapist.

The premiere will be followed by a Q&A with the actress and the director.
