I am a visual artist, coming from an education in fine arts and set and costume design, with an interest in educational contexts and the transformative and reflexive power of art.
My work is an exploration on how to engage with art in a reflection that extends in time after the contact with it. Exploring ways for participants to look, experience, question, review and make meaning – these are my main guide lines when I am working with groups of learners but also with an audience. I am mostly drawn to collaborative arts and experience based art forms, these might include workshop leading, collaborative theatre devising or group exhibitions.
At the same time, my artistic practice is connected to the importance of motherhood in my life. In my last project, I was reflecting on the perception of how to fully explore the concept of the “artist and the family”.
Related themes that emerge from my practice are: external stimuli of art history, arts itself, brings and allowed that experience to shape and guide my work instead of trying to ignore and relationships between audience/learners and artist/educator.
